Reports to: Board of Directors

Accountability: Plans and directs the overall management of the club to achieve operational efficiency and effective provision of services to members.

Commencement Date: ASAP

Tasks:

  • Directs the policy and operation of the club for the achievement of policy objectives, financial performance and satisfaction of members’ expectations.
  • Establishes, in conjunction with the board, the club’s objectives, policies and programs, and sets performance standards and targets.
  • Appraises the club’s activities, and monitors and evaluates performance.
  • Consults subordinate staff, and reviews recommendations and reports.
  • Co-ordinates subordinate staff activities to optimise the use of human and physical resources to achieve goals.
  • Resolves conflicts between areas of responsibility.
  • Prepares or arranges (in consultation with the bookkeeper) preparation of reports, budgets and forecasts, and presents them to the board of directors.
  • Keeps the board informed on significant issues, and liaises with the President and/ or other members on key activities.
  • Ensures security and development of the club’s assets and safety of work practices.
  • Establishes administrative and operational procedures, including delegation of responsibilities to subordinate staff, taking into account the club’s operating environment.
  • Be hands on and available to work day, nights and weekends. Stock ordering and control.
  • Promotes and represents the club in negotiations, conferences, community events and other occasions, and liaises with other organisations.
  • Selects or approves the selection of staff, usually in collaboration with the board on senior appointments, and reviews training and development needs.


Duties/Commitments:

  • Perform to the best of your abilities and knowledge the duties of management and supervision of the Club’s Activities, functions and business and the direction. Supervise and control the staff of the Club whether during or outside business hours.
  • Serve the Club faithfully and diligently to the best of your ability.
  • Use all reasonable efforts to promote the interest of the club.
  • Act in the Club’s best interest.
  • Comply with all policies and procedures of the Club in place.
  • Comply with all laws applicable to your position and the duties assigned to you and report to the Board of the Club.
  • From time to time visit the Club outside normal working hours.
  • Make yourself available to be contacted on your mobile phone to deal with emergency operational matters.


Club Meetings/Functions

You are required to attend – (or part thereof) under the request of The Board:

  • Monthly Board of Directors Meetings
  • Annual and other General Meetings
  • Special Meetings
