Since its establishment around 1925, the Gulargambone Jockey Club has remained a cornerstone of the community, entirely volunteer-run and one of the few grassroots racing clubs still thriving in the Western Districts.
For a small town with a big heart, this centenary celebration is a testament to the resilience and passion of the Gulargambone community. Whether you’re a racing enthusiast, a local, or a visitor seeking an authentic country experience, everyone is invited to join in the festivities.
“Racing has been woven into Gulargambone’s history since 1925,” says Tom Gadsby, President of the Gulargambone Jockey Club. “Reaching 100 years is a massive achievement for a small community like ours. We’re incredibly proud to keep this tradition alive in 2025.”
“Many country racing clubs have folded over the years, but we’ve kept ours alive thanks to our dedicated committee, generous sponsors, and loyal local support,” Gadsby explains. “This milestone is a celebration of everyone who’s contributed to keeping the Gulargambone Jockey Club going for a century.”
Whether you’re a seasoned racegoer or simply looking for a memorable day out in the bush, the 2025 Gulargambone Gold Cup is not to be missed. With its authentic country charm, thrilling races, and a warm community spirit, it’s the perfect way to celebrate 100 years of racing history.
