Ever wondered what that green light in the sky was, or if we'll be living on Mars soon? Come along and join staff from Siding Spring Observatory for an evening of light-hearted banter and debate with world-famous astronomers, engineers and science communicators.

The event this year will be run at the Coonabarabran Golf Club and is being organised by the Community Group; 2357 Development Group and tickets will be available through the webpage.
There will be dinner available (pre purchased), buses to pick you up from in town and take you home. The show is always a sell-out, and a great night out.
For just one day of the year, Siding Spring Observatory in Coonabarabran opens its telescopes to the public. It's your chance to take a closer look at Australia's largest optical astronomy site.
A great family day out, with presentations by internationally-acclaimed astronomers, science displays, food stall, solar observing and activities for children.
It’s a free event, no bookings needed.
You will gain access to telescopes such as the Anglo Australian Telescope, iTelescope, 2.3m Telescope and the newly opened Huntsman Telescope.
Don’t worry there are buses running all around site if you don’t want to walk!
To close out the weekend on Saturday at Open Day; Can you guess who our Starfest special guest speaker will be?
Past guests have included astronaut Andy Thomas, Professor Matthew Colless, Dr Amanda Bauer and Professor Chris Lidman.
