CatholicCare Wilcannia-Forbes provides a broad range of programs and services caring for the wellbeing of individuals, families and communities, especially the vulnerable and at-risk.
We empower parents and children, we offer financial counselling and capability, we support families affected by domestic violence, we have tailored help for men and family relationships, we provide housing support and we deliver initiatives to strengthen Indigenous communities.
We have 15 branches across western NSW, and provide outreach support to surrounding communities.
CatholicCare Wilcannia-Forbes is the official social service of the Catholic Church in the Diocese of Wilcannia-Forbes. The diocese covers more than 52% of NSW and 414,398 square kilometres. It spans from beyond Bourke and Brewarrina, to Broken Hill, south to Balranald and east to Forbes and Parkes.
CatholicCare Wilcannia-Forbes was established in 1996 and starting with counselling services, it has expanded during its three decades to offer a suite of services. A driving principle from the beginning was CatholicCare Wilcannia-Forbes would provide services to all members of communities in the diocese, including Aboriginal communities. We are committed to providing culturally appropriate services, our Aboriginal team members contributing significantly to our capacity to achieve this.
