Coonamble Shire Council have issued an Emergency Water Usage Alert for Coonamble township.

Council has lost power to the water treatment plant and a has a major pump failure on the main bore which services the majority of town, the reservoirs are now critically low resulting in low water pressure across town.

Council has reinstated the power to the water treatment plant and are currently sourcing a replacement pump. Staff are on site and will most probably work through the night.
