MT MAGOMETON QUARRY CLOSED FROM CLOSE OF BUSINESS 30 MAY 2025 UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

Coonamble Shire Council has received precautionary advice that operations at the Mt Magometon Quarry must be suspended until all outstanding improvement notices have been closed out.

Failure to voluntarily suspend operations at Mt Magometon Quarry may result in a forced shut-down and potential for further disciplinary actions from the Regulator.

To comply with this advice and ensure the safety and regulatory compliance of the facility, Mt Magometon Quarry will be closed to the public effective from the close of business on Friday, May 30, 2025.

Subject to the approval of the Regulator, Council anticipates that operations at the Quarry will resume in early July 2025.

Council is committed to addressing all outstanding notices promptly and thoroughly to meet regulatory requirements and ensure the Quarry can safely and effectively reopen as soon as possible. We appreciate the understanding and patience of customers during this period.
