Chief executive Officer (CEO) of Coonamble Local Aboriginal Land Council.

The Chief Executive Officer is responsible for overseeing and managing the day to day business of the Coonamble Local Aboriginal Land Council.

The Chief Executive officer reports to the board. The CEO is the direct manager for the council’s other employees.

Being an Australian Aboriginal is a genuine occupational requirement for this role.

Under section 14 of the anti-Discrimation act NSW 1977 it is not considered discrimination where the employment involves providing persons of a particular race with services for the purpose of promoting their welfare where those services can most effectively be provided by a person of the same race.

Experience

The Chief Executive officer will have senior management experience, including managing a team and overseeing finances.

The Chief executive Officer will have experience dealing with a board, including preferably having had responsibilities to attend meeting and take direction from the board.

Essential Knowledge

The Chief Executive officer must have good working knowledge of the Land Right Act 1983 (ALRA) and an understanding of social Housing.
