Reports to: Club Manager/Secretary and the Board of Directors

Accountability: Plans and directs the overall management of the Club and services to achieve operational efficiency and effective provision of services to members. At all Club sites and enterprises owned and controlled by the Club from time to time.

Tasks:

  • Performs all duties as required by NSW Liquor and Gaming in accordance with the statutory conditions and requirements as Manager/Secretary and approved contact for the Club Licence.
  • Ensures current policies and procedures in accordance with ClubsNSW and ClubSafe are maintained.
  • Responsible for staff employed by the club including the power to establish rosters and establishes administrative and operational procedures as authorized by the Secretary/Manager or Board of Directors, including delegation of responsibilities to staff, considering the Club’s operating environment.
  • Manages the policy and operation of the Bar and services for the achievement of policy objectives, financial performance, and satisfaction of member’s expectations.
  • Manages, in conjunction with the Board, the Club’s objectives, policies and programs, and sets performance standards, targets and has a degree of autonomy.
  • Manages the maintenance and care of the Club and its properties and ensure all repairs and maintenance works are carried by qualified contractors in accordance with the WHS regulations.
  • Consults subordinate staff and reviews recommendations and reports.
  • Co-ordinates subordinate staff activities to optimise the use of human and physical resources to achieve goals.
  • Resolves conflicts between areas of responsibility.
  • Keeps the Secretary/Manager and Board of Directors informed on significant issues and liaises with the President and other members on key activities.
  • Ensures security and development of the Club’s assets and safety of work practices.
  • Promotes and represents the Club in negotiations, conferences, community events and other occasions and liaises with other organisations.
  • Selects or approves the selection of staff, usually in collaboration with the Board, and reviews training and development needs.


Duties / Commitments:

  • Perform to the best of your abilities and knowledge the duties of bar and services management and supervision of the Club’s activities and functions. Supervise and control staff of the Club whether during or outside business hours.
  • Serve the Club faithfully and diligently to the best of your ability.
  • Use all reasonable efforts to promote the interest of the Club.
  • Act in the Club’s best interest.
  • Comply with all policies and procedures of the Club in place.
  • Comply with all laws applicable to your position and the duties assigned to you and report to the Secretary/Manager or the Board of Directors.
  • From time to time visit the Club outside normal working hours.
  • Make yourself available to be contacted on your mobile phone to deal with emergency operational matters.

You are required to attend or part thereof under the request of the Board:

  • Monthly Board of Directors Meetings if requested.
  • Annual General Meetings
  • Special Meetings
