Koonambil Aged Care Limited is a community owned, mission-based organisation that operates a residential aged care facility in Coonamble, in the Orana Far West aged care planning region of NSW.

Coonamble has a population of approximately 3,000 people. Koonambil is governed by a voluntary community Board and provides employment to more than 38 local staff, including RN’s , EN’s, AIN’s.



About the Opportunity


Reporting to the CEO of Koonambil Aged Care, the Care Manager will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and oversight of care services for the Residential Aged care Facility.


This is a newly created position and will be responsible for:

• Overseeing and supporting the Clinical team consisting of Registered and enrolled nurses along with personal care worker team in their daily tasks whilst providing clinical leadership.

• Direct development and management of care plans including overseeing delegation of care plan assessment and reviews that ensures care tailored to resident’s individual needs whilst maintaining consumer dignity and choice.

• Liaising with external medical and allied health professionals to ensure quality medical and allied health access and overseeing that changes in resident care needs are reported and reviewed and managed by medical providers in appropriate time frames.

• Managing clinical and care staff rostering including staff skill mix allocation ensures delivery of high quality and safe resident care appropriate to the level of resident acuity. (AN-ACC classification) .

• Managing clinical and care staff performance development, including appraisal and ongoing feedback.


About You


For this role, we are seeking a passionate and professional Registered Nurse or Care Manager with experience within the Aged Care sector.

Candidates with the following skillsets and experience are encouraged to apply:

• Current AHPRA Registered Nurse with a demonstrated track record in management within a Health Care organisation.

• Experience in aged care provision.

• Experience and knowledge of best practice rostering.

• Experience leading teams, in health and aged care settings.

• Effective verbal and written communication skills

• Knowledge of planning for continuous quality improvement and the ability to drive and monitor care services across the home.

• Knowledge of current legislation and standards related to the Aged Care or Hospital setting.

• An ability to work autonomously and make decisions.

• Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with clients and families.
