Walgett Shire Council is situated on the border of New South Wales and Queensland that provides services to Walgett, Lightning Ridge, Collarenebri and the surrounding rural areas. The Shire covers an area of 22,000 square kilometers and has a population of approximately 6,000.

Council is seeking applications for Casual Youth Workers for Collarenebri Youth Development Services. Reporting directly to the Team Leader – Youth Development, the youth worker position is suited to enthusiastic and energetic individuals who likes to interact with young people and have the capacity to supervise and engage participation in activities provided by the Youth Services Team.

Responsibilities include assisting in identifying the recreational needs of young people, provide a safe and enjoyable environment, keep records of attendance for all participating young people and assist in the co-ordination of activities. Applicants are required to have a current Working with Children Check, hold or be enrolled in a Certificate III in Children’s Services and a current Australian driver’s licence.

Salary: Grade 2 entry, $35.97 per hour (casual)
