The Western Plains App is looking for a part-time journalist to deliver original news content focused on the communities we cover across inland NSW. 

We are a small team who publish a local independent news app to serve the 11 local government areas of Bogan, Bourke, Brewarrina, Cobar, Coonamble, Gilgandra, Lachlan, Narromine, Walgett, Warren and Warrumbungle (western portion). 

The ideal candidate is an established or up-and-coming journalist who lives in or near our region, has reliable internet access and can work autonomously. 

You will work as part of a team producing news stories, and community/sports reports for publication relating to these local areas.  

The successful applicant will be curious, flexible and self-motivated to find, research and write stories that matter to our local communities. 

Working with the editor, you will have the skills to create stories and celebrate the regions we support through broad and diverse content. 

Hours are negotiable for the right candidate.
