12-year-old charged on break-enter-steal in Bourke

A boy will face court today, Monday 3 June, facing charges after an investigation into a break, enter and steal in Bourke at the weekend.


At about 4.10pm on Saturday 1 June, a boy allegedly entered a home on Oxley Street, Bourke, just before the owner arrived home.


When the owner arrived home to find the front door open, he sighted a boy flee out the back door and jump the rear fence allegedly carrying two CCTV cameras.



Officers attached to Central North Police District attended and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.


Their inquiries led police to a home in Bourke at around12.55am yesterday (Sunday 2 June 2024), where they arrested a 12-year-old boy.


He was taken to Bourke Police Station and charged with break and enter house steal value.


He was refused bail and appeared at a Children’s court via Audio Visual Link yesterday, Sunday 2 June 2024.


He was given conditional bail to appear at another Children’s court today, Monday 3 June 2024.
