One of the latest additions to the Western Plains App team is the artistic Angie White, who will be covering all things from her home base of Nyngan and beyond.

Angie originally grew up in Bathurst, where her family still lives, however moved out to the Bogan shire after marrying Nyngan boy Gary White, who teaches working dog schools.

33 years on, she said she has a deep appreciation for the place she now calls home.

"I have an awesome community out here with great and interesting people. I love promoting that Nyngan is such a good place to visit and bring up a family," Angie said.

"A lot of talented people grow up and come out of here. Nyngan has a lot of great characters and I would love to explore that so everyone can see how great they are."

You could say news runs deep in Angie's blood, with a brother who is a television producer and runs a radio station, while she herself had her first job in Nyngan at 'The Nyngan News' where she worked for a few years.

To this day, she still enjoys telling stories in a variety of ways, whether it's through photography or through her words.

She has also had a long career in and passion for the arts and currently runs two dance studios in Nyngan and Tottenham.

It was while doing work for regional community arts organisation Outback Arts that she first met Managing Editor of the Western Plains App Lee O'Connor.

So, when she was recently approached by Lee to become a regional reporter for the App, Angie said she was very enthusiastic to be a part of it.

"I think the App is a very necessary thing to have, I love it and have been telling everyone about it," she said.

"So many of us transverse communities out here so at least if we can get on the App, we can see what's happening in other towns like Bourke or Cobar and go and support those communities."

As for Lee, she said she was equally excited to have Angie on board.

"Angie has an eclectic range of interests and is involved in so many different sectors - she comes with a wide network of contacts and a number of skills which will be a great asset to the Western Plains App team," she said.

"I worked with Angie decades ago through Outback Arts and I know I'm going to enjoy working with her on the App."
