It’s the stuff endurance horse riders dream of ..breath taking views, cool conditions and territory to test riders and horse.

Day one of the Tooraweenah Endurance Ride is done and today, Sunday 27 April, will put the 60 participants under even greater pressure to show their real stamina.

Tooraweenah’s Rebbecca Blessing says a variety of distances make for the a tricky assignment.

‘’Seven, 20 and 40 kilometres on Day One and the 80 kilometre Day Two and community is loving it.

"It begins from the Showground and we have fantastic numbers for the Tooraweenah Endurance ride.’’

Entries come from small children led by their loving parents to veterans with decades of experience.

‘’It's known as the ‘ride with view ‘ which is through the Warrumbungles below the magnificent mountain and it's testing but comfortable for riders and horses.’’

Riders are coming from far and wide to compete.

"We have thank landholders in the district who are 100% behind the ride and also the local CWA who back us,’’ Rebecca said.

High standard Arabian style horses are the powering the gruelling journeys.
