Local shire's are beginning to announce their ambassadors for the 2024 Australia Day celebrations with Warrumbungle Shire among the latest.

While announcing ambassadors will be George Ellis and Warren Potent who will join in the events and activities, Warrumbungle Shire Mayor, Ambrose Doolan also reminded people of the true meaning of the day.

“On Friday 26 January 2024, the Warrumbungle community is encouraged to Reflect, Respect and Celebrate our nation and our people – and especially our strong sense of community in times of adversity,” Mr Doolan said. “Australia Day 2024 will present a particularly poignant and special opportunity to recognise the resilience of Australians and to focus on what we can achieve as a community and nation.”

Mr Doolan said the council's plan was to unite our community and pay tribute to the Australian spirit.
