Police are calling for public assistance as they investigate the theft of a firearm from a property in Baradine.

Between 7pm on Wednesday 16 April 2025 and 1pm on Saturday 19 April 2025, officers began an investigation after a .223 calibre Remington rifle was reported stolen from a property on Creenaunes Lane. 

Police say they were told the home was broken into and the rifle stolen from a vehicle on the property. 

"The owner was given a firearms licence notice of suspension and the remaining firearms were seized," a police spokesperson said. 

"As inquiries continue, anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Coonabarabran Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000."
