New sculptures designed to “Add a bit of interest, variety, vitality, to give funding to local businesses during the drought” have been erected in Warren.
The sculptures are all situated around the town’s sports precinct.
One is a sculpture of two tennis players, another features two rugby players, the third is a man lifting weights and another sculpture of two netball players is in the process of being completed. All of them have been constructed from steel.

Warren and District Arts Council President, Jenny Quigley, told the Western Plains App that the place the sculptures now stand are near the river and a "lovely place to walk".
She said the project was started from the Warren and District Arts Council and was essentially designed to stimulate the local economy during the drought.
But it is also about showcasing how important sport is for Warren.
“Sport is absolutely huge here, tennis, yoga, rugby, netball, the gym is always full of people” she said.
“If you look at how many of our Australia Day nominations were for people involved sport, you will see just how big it is here. We also have people from Warren who have competed in sports at an international level.”
Quigley herself teaches yoga. She also plays tennis on the town’s synthetic grass courts. She is rumored to have a very good serve and a strong forehand.
“Sport important especially for people who are new to town, to meet people, gain new skills and get fit.”
Local fitter, machinist and fabricator Ben Cant cut out the designs and told the Western Plains App he enjoyed the problem solving required in making the project. He says he also plays squash once a week in Warren “just to feel part of the community”
Another sculpture recently added to the town was of a Cockatoo. Ryan Mason who runs his own engineering business in town developed the concept and the design.
“I’m real a nature lover,” he said “I love Cockatoos. They are very inquisitive, mischievous, intelligent animals”
“I hope these sculptures will bring new visitors and art tourists to the town”.
