Get ready to kick up your heels as limits come off weddings and dancing.
As vaccination rates continue to creep up, more freedoms will be allowed from Monday but there was still a total of ten new covid infections reported in across the Western LHD in the 24 hours to 8pm Friday 15 October.
In the western plains, Walgett and Narromine continue to bear the brunt with four new cases each however none of these were known to be infectious in the community.
Covid testing remains available across the weekend in locations with new cases so Narromine residents can attend the Narromine Health Service from 9.30am to 2.30pm and Walgett residents are asked to call ahead to the Mutlipurpose Service on 6817 9400.
There were no new cases in Dubbo or Bourke, the remaining two in the Western LHD were in Orange and Oberon (one each).
The total covid cases for the Western Local Health District so far has reached 1549. There are four people currently in hospital and just one in intensive care. A further 33 people were discharged from the Covid Care in the Community program yesterday.
Across NSW, 91.7 per cent of people aged 16 and over have received a first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, and 78.8 per cent are fully vaccinated to 11.59pm on Thursday 14 October 2021.
In Narromine 76.8% of people have received two doses of the vaccine and 94.7% have received their first dose. Walgett's rates are 71.6% double vaxxed and 86.2% single dose.
For other rates in our area as of 10 October see the table below provided by Member for Barwon Roy Butler:
As of Monday 18 October, there'll be more changes to the Public Health Orders.
"NSW is predicted to reach the 80% double vaccinated target over the weekend meaning that come Monday more rules are relaxed," Mr Butler said.
"Community sport will resume - which a lot of people have asked me about. You'll be able to drink a beer in a pub standing up. The dance ban will end."
Other changes include the removal of the cap on the number of guests permitted at weddings and funerals and masks no longer being required in offices.
All premises will continue to operate at one person per 4 square metres indoors and one person per 2 square metres outdoors and the requirements of COVID-Safe check-ins and providing proof of vaccination to enter most premises will still continue.
From 1 November travel to and from Greater Sydney will be allowed.
