Binnaway Jockey Club’s Julie Gray and her volunteers have the racetrack in ‘in tip to order’ for today’s cup meeting. (Saturday 3 May)
The first race is timed for 1.15pm and six races are programmed.
The $14,000 Binnaway Cup has attracted has a capacity field over the 1300 metre journey.
Track is rated good and a large field will bring a big crowd.
Gilgandra galloper Order of Merit has been racing well and has claiming apprentice Zoe Hunt riding and the horse has won twice at the distance.
Dubbo trainer Dar Lunn has mare Pants On Fire also in the Cup the grey-brown brown mare resumes off a break in the paddock but punters will back her with inform apprentice Tilly McCarroll taking charge.
The Lunn family has a top record in Binnaway’s big race.
The club has gone to every length with prizes for the Fashions on the Field, best dressed boy and girl to men and women supported by local and Dubbo businesses.
All the top trainers from Mudgee, Dubbo to Cobar will bring top race horses to Binnaway and a Maiden Plate begins racing and the club has big line ups in every race on what promises to be their most successful Cup meeting.
