A body has been located in the search for a man missing in Lake Cargelligo.

The 41-year-old man was reported missing when he had not surfaced after falling off a paddleboard at about 3pm on Saturday 17 January 2026.

Emergency services were called to the boat ramp at Lake Street, Lake Cargelligo.

The paddleboard was recovered, and a multi-agency search commenced by officers from Central West Police District with the assistance of specialist police from the Diving Unit, Rescue and Bomb Disposal Unit, as well as VRA and SES personnel.

Just before 2pm on Monday 19 January, the body of a man was located by police divers.

The body is believed to be that of the missing paddleboarder.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
