Nyngan Highway Patrol have arrested and charged a 56 year-old male from Bourke for traffic and drug related offences, following a vehicle stop yesterday.
About 12:00 pm on Tuesday 15 November 2022, officers attached to Nyngan Highway Patrol were conducting patrols of the Mitchell Highway in Nyngan.
Information suggested that the driver of the Ford Ranger had a suspended licence, as such, was stopped by Police.
After speaking to the occupants of the Ford Ranger, Police had cause to search the vehicle where they located 963 grams of Cannabis, a large amount of cash and many small resealable bags.
The 56 year-old man was then taken to Nyngan Police Station and charged with:
• Supply prohibited drug (>Indictable quantity),
• Drive whilst suspended,
• Possess prohibited drug,
• Goods in personal custody suspected of being stolen.
He was granted conditional bail to appear before the Courts at a later date
