Councillor Vivian Slack-Smith was elected for her second term as Mayor of Brewarrina Shire Council last week.
In announcing the appointment, Brewarrina Shire Council said Ms Slack-Smith will continue to bring a wealth of experience a deep commitment to the welfare of the community, and a clear roadmap for addressing the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.
"I am deeply honoured and humbled by the faith the people of Brewarrina have shown in me," Ms Slack-Smith said. "I pledge to work tirelessly to fulfil the aspirations and expectations of our community."
Council sources said Ms Slack-Smith's dedication to serving the residents of Brewarrina is evident in her long-standing record of community engagement and public service.
The Deputy Mayor for Brewarrina is councillor Angelo Pippos, who was re-elected unopposed into the position. Mr Pippos will now serve his second term. He is an experienced councillor, who has previously served as Mayor of Brewarrina for a number of years.
The Brewarrina Shire Council said it is committed to serving the interests and needs of the residents of Brewarrina and working collaboratively with community members, local businesses, and other stakeholders to create a prosperous and inclusive future for the region.
Ms Slack-Smith is looking enthusiastically to the future.
"Together, we will continue to build a prosperous, inclusive, and vibrant Shire," she said.
