The Brewarrina Blizzard has ended its biggest year yet, after a week of festivities between Monday 7 July and Sunday 13 July.
Â
The annual event turns the outback town of Brewarrina into a winter wonderland, with an ice-skating rink and snow play area.
Â
This year saw an incredible turn-out with more than 9,500 visitors coming near and far, including interstate travellers all the way from Bungundarra in north Queensland and Echuca in Victoria.
Â
Alongside the ice-skating rink and snow experience, there was an expanded food and drink selection this year with Sami's Crazy Pizzas from Wagga Wagga offering made to order woodfired pizzas, and Mr Whippy's van selling ice cream treats and hot dogs.
Â
Food vendors said they experienced bumper trade, with early reports indicating this year’s event was the biggest by far.
Â
Sami’s Woodfired Pizza sold 700 pizzas over the duration of the Blizzard.
Â
Owner Sami Abboud said it was a great week and he was already looking forward to returning to Brewarrina next year.
Â
"It's amazing how a small community can just come together and put something like this on," said Mr Abboud.
Â
"It's great little community and a friendly town, and I'm excited to be part of it again next year."

Brewarrina Shire Council General Manager David Kirby described the event as "truly magical."
Â
“The Blizzard has not only put our town on the map for the premier regional events but shown what’s possible when a community comes together," said Mr Kirby.
Â
"For many in our remote area, it provides a unique chance to enjoy the joys of a 'white winter' right here in outback NSW."
Visitors came from across Australia including Sydney, Dubbo, Forbes, Orange, Bathurst, Hervey Bay, Moree, Somerton, Narrabri, Tamworth, Boorowa, Mudgee, Queensland and Victoria. [IMAGE: Brewarrina Shire Council]
Â
Mr Kirby also thanked everyone involved in the planning and execution of the event.
“With each passing year, the Brewarrina Blizzard continues to grow in scale and ambition," he said.
Â
"A big thank you to the team for all their hard work and to everyone who took to the ice over the week.
Â
"We are already looking ahead to 2026, promising more icy surprises and experiences for visitors of all ages."
