Car thief allegedly threatens 91-year-old Baradine womanPolice

A 19-year-old will face court today, 21 February, after he threatened a 91-year-old woman in her home in Baradine. 

 

Officers from the Orana Mid-Western Police District were called to a home in Baradine at 12:45 a.m. on Thursday, February 20, following reports of a break-in. 

 

When police arrived they were told a man had broken into the elderly woman's home, threatened her, and stole her Toyota sedan. 

 

No injuries were reported from the incident. 


 

Police located the abandoned and damaged vehicle a short time later. 

 

The 19-year-old man was arrested on Thursday around 2pm on Wellington Street Baradine. 

 

He was taken to Coonabarabran Police Station and charged with taking and driving a conveyance without consent of the owner, stalking/intimidating with intent to fear physical harm, demanding property with menaces with intent to steal, and aggravated entering a dwelling with intent. 

 

He was refused bail on Thursday and will appear before Dubbo Local Court today, 21 February.
