Child in stable condition after being struck by car in CoonabarabranA child is in a stable condition after being struck by a car in Coonabarabran yesterday evening. Police inquiries are underway.

A child will undergo surgery for facial injuries after being struck by a car in Coonabarabran yesterday.


About 5.10pm on Sunday 27 June, a five-year-old boy was struck by a car – being driven by a woman – as he ran across Dalgarno Street.


Emergency services were called, and the boy was taken to Coonabarabran Hospital before being airlifted to John Hunter Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.


The driver was taken to Coonabarabran Hospital for mandatory testing. Inquiries by Orana Mid-Western Police District are underway.
