The meaning of Christmas is being surrounded by family and friends and on Saturday 17 December the Josiah Healing Centre drew the crowd with its annual Christmas Carols event at the Geoff New Oval in Brewarrina.

The Pastor of the Josiah Healing Centre, Ike Gordon had a few things to say about the night.

“The night bought our people together and it was nice to see everyone smiling. It’s important to remember what Christmas really means and the importance of family and coming together as one.”

It was a great turn out with so much to do. There was a puppet show put on by Outback Ministries from Sydney, the jumping castle was supplied by the Child and Family Centre, face painting and BBQ was put on by the Minderoo Foundation and the Brewarrina LALC, music and more.

The truck that was the stage came from a local businessman Carl Lukas. “I will do anything for my community and will help in any way I can," said Mr Lukas.

The special guest of the night was Santa Claus who arrived in the Fire truck and handed out presents to all of the children.

“Christmas is about the birth of our Lord and Savoir Jesus Christ and coming together to celebrate.

I’d like to thank everyone who came and helped to put on the great night.” says Pastor Ike.

The Brewarrina Fire and Rescue Service put on a great fireworks display going for over 10 minutes.

Thanks to Burra McHughes this is the second year he has been able to put on the fireworks.
