Rural Fire Services out of Nyngan are working to control a bushfirefire refusing to die, the blaze has been burning on and off since Saturday 6 December.

The fire is just off the Mitchell Highway, between Coolabah and Girilambone.

Emergency services have attempted to control the blaze since it caught on Saturday, but it is proving hard to extinguish.

Rural Fire Services were able to control it on the morning of Monday 8 December but it re-ignited later that afternoon.

Local crews have been working to contain it since.

It is currently burning across more than 1400 hectares.
