Trisha Phillips remembers her late Mum Barb Latham as someone who was as talented as she was modest.

"She was probably born in the wrong era" Ms Phillips explained  "Mum would have an amazing career in IT".

Ms Phillips, from Trangie, said right up until her late 80's her Mum was the person she went to for computer advice.

"She did my spreadsheets" she told the Western Plains App "If I need help setting up a television she was the woman I would call".

Barb Latham, born in 1932 in Wee-Waa, died in Trangie last year.

"Now when I feel like I need some help, I'm like ok, now I have to work this out on my own."

Her Mum was also an artist.

"She was made beautiful artworks" she explained "in the five years that her eye-sight was really good she made some incredible art".

Barbara Latham spent her last years at Trangie Multipurpose Health Service using the time to drawi pictures of her precious memories of life on the land.

She continued to create the beautiful artworks until her cataracts unfortunately took hold of her eyesight.

When Barbara passed away, she left the sketchbooks for her family which contained the meticulous fine line drawings.

Trish transformed the drawings into exquisite prints for a unique fundraising event.

Those who attended the art show enjoyed the stunning showcase of artwork and indulged in delicious nibbles and drinks provided by Cafe 2823.

Raising in excess of $2000 these funds will make a significant impact towards supporting activities for the residents and enhancing the service’s palliative care room.

Member for Dubbo Dugald Saunders congratulated Ms Phillips in NSW Parliament this week.

"Congratulations Trish on orchestrating such a memorable and successful event. Your efforts have not only honored the memory of your mum but also created a lasting legacy that will positively impact the Trangie community" he said.

"Having them look after Mum really took the stress off me caring for my Mum, so I wanted to make the palliative care rooms to have a more homely feel, with some more things in there to keep amused and occupied" Ms Philips told the Western Plains App.

"Everyone in the hospital was so lovely to her, I think every single person in that hospital came in and gave her a cuddle in her final days".
