Crowds and performers are getting ready to rumble in the Warrumbungles, with Coonabarabran’s second Bungle Rumble expecting to draw talent from across the country.

Headlined by Chocolate Starfish, the festival is aimed at putting the worries of the world away for a night on 25 November.

“It’s a one day music festival to break down social isolation in regional communities,” said Chairperson of the Coonabarabran Suicide Prevention Network Kodi Brady.

“It’s our goal to give our small communities access to live music and also to provide artists with a platform.”

“Chocolate Starfish has quite a big following, a lot of their fans have bought tickets and are travelling up,” Mr Brady said.

As well as market stalls, bar facilities, food trucks and free kids activities, the set list includes the likes of Andy Penkow, Ballz N All, Issac Compton and Millie Mills and Rebel Black.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their chair, umbrella and picnic rug to enjoy the show.

“We’re having a big cultural spectacular, a modern day corroboree with First Nations people from across New South Wales. They’ll mob in from all different directions, with a big fire in the middle of the crowd.”

Last year, the festival’s first event attracted a crowd of 3000 people.

While funding meant last year’s event could be free, the Coonabarabran Suicide Prevention Network has worked hard to ensure that this year’s Bungle Rumble tickets are at an affordable price, at $25 for adults and $5 for children.

“We want people to take the opportunity for a large scale music event in or close to your community,” Mr Brady said.

“Just come and enjoy.”

You can get your hands on tickets here, for a 4pm start at the Coonabarabran Showground on Saturday, 25 November.
