Hot and steamy or chilly and breezy with storms and showers all round, the weather across the west will remain unsteady this week thanks to a trough of low pressure that remains over the inland.
On the Western Plains the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) predicts increasingly unsettled weather as the inland trough deepens.
Possible showers and storms are forecast until the trough moves out to sea later in the week.
The chance of showers ranges from moderate (60%) on Monday to slight (20%) on Thursday 9 December.
Thunderstorms are also forecast with a chance in all areas each day through to Thursday.
Not great news for those in the east of the region working to harvest grain and need to access already water-logged paddocks and shift heavy loads along flood-damaged roads.
Overnight temperatures are expected to fall to between 12 and 16 degrees across much of the region, with an 11 degree low at Condobolin on Friday 10 and Saturday 11 December.
While daytime temperatures are expected to hover around the mid twenties most of the week there is potential for a repeat of last Friday's hot and humid conditions on Tuesday 7 and Wednesday 8 with Bourke and Brewarrina possibly seeing a top of 36 degrees celsius, cooling off as you head south and Condobolin's top temp a good four degrees cooler.
So keep the jumpers and cardigans handy and prepare to turn on the aircon over the next few days.
Don't put the gumboots away just yet and keep an eye on the Road Conditions with many shires still reporting closures on both sealed and unsealed roads.
