Gilgandra at home are confident for Sunday's final match. [IMAGE SUPPLIED]Some big hitting in their Round 3 match will see Gilgandra go into Sunday’s Brewery Shield cricket final with strong momentum against Dubbo.
Shield secretary Glenn Shepherd predicts the match against Dubbo again to be close.
"I guess this match could go either way as both sides are in top form," he said.
It’s a re-match of Round 3 with Dubbo batting first after winning the toss and scoring 190.
But Gilgandra’s Tyne Capman taking 3 for 40 and Brad Hammond snaring 2 for 10 managed to bowl the visitors out.
Hammond got the prized wicket of Abur Naiz who Shepherd predicts to be the dangerman for Dubbo.
‘’If he gets going Gil will have to watch out but he has to bring his best," said Shepherd.
Gilgandra is on home turf and early order batsman Nick Willoughby and Ash Hazelton dominated the Round 3 match.
Hazelton skippers the side and did hit 181 earlier in the season.
Nick Willoughby struck a quick-fire 72 off 81 balls including a big six and also scored 10 boundaries while Ash Hazelton also wowed the local crowd scoring 59 off 97 including 2 sixes and 7 fours.
"It was a cracking partnership of more than 130 for the third wicket and if they can repeat that Gil will put the pressure on again."
Their combination came after losing 2 wickets cheaply but it set up a local win.

Players will be relieved to know only 30 degrees is predicted for Sunday after 40+ degree belter on Saturday.
