Girl found safe in Noona after reported missing

A 12-year-old Noona girl has been located safe and well after she was reported missing on Saturday.

Police made a public call for information on 12 October for the girl's whereabouts after she had last been spotted in the area, about 80 kilometres west of Cobar.

Last seen in a Sydney Roosters football jersey and Crocs shoes, police held concerns because of her age.

"With the assistance of officers from the SES, Rural Fire Service and numerous landowners using quad bikes and helicopters, conducted an extensive search of bushland in Noona. About 5.30pm, the girl was located safe," a police representative said.

"Central North Police District would like to thank the community and the media for their assistance."
