In anticipation of Father's Day this Sunday (5 September), people across the Western Region are being reminded to commemorate the day in a COVIDSafe way.
According to the current Public Health Orders, home visitors are still not allowed, meaning children living out of home must resist any temptation to visit their parent's homes or may face hefty fines.
As for those whose fathers have passed away, the government has confirmed that they will be allowed to visit cemeteries, though certain conditions must be followed.
During a press conference earlier this week, Member for Dubbo Dugald Saunders said large gatherings wouldn't be permitted but people would still be able to visit in small groups.
"You can visit a cemetery or a grave site with members of your immediate family, as in your household," Mr Saunders said.
"So only those that live with you can go with you or one other person if you don't have members of a household with you.
"We understand that people will want to go to gravesites and cemeteries but you need to do it sensibly with your household group and a mask on."
Mr Saunders said this clarification was motivated by questions he received from people in his own electorate, though confirmed these rules applied across all of Western NSW.
