Local pilot killed in plane crash near Tottenham

Parkes police are investigating a fatal recreational aircraft crash, south of Tottenham yesterday afternoon 16 June 2025.


Officers attached to Central West Police District were called to Meadowview Road, near Albert.


Shortly after 3.40pm, the aircraft was found crashed in a paddock.


The 48-year-old pilot, who is a local man, died in the crash.


A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner, while an investigation into the crash is being conducted by Recreational Aircraft Australia.


Police had been searching the area for the driver of a car – which had reported stolen from a worksite near Narromine about 2pm – when the aircraft crash occurred.


Inquiries are continuing into the whereabouts of the driver.
