Coonabararan's Imperial Hotel has struck gold again, with a customer winning a horse in the $2 million Kosciuszko TAB Draw for the second year running.

Locally born Blake Palmer was staying over on a visit from Narrabri.

''I bought a ticket and thought it was in a meat raffle but when Sam told me I had the winning ticket in the big draw I was a bit surprised," he said.

In 2024, another local Brett Bowman also won a horse in the rich sweepstake.

''He was mighty impressed with winning $44,000 on the day of the big race when his horse finished fourth,'' Imperial Hotel Manager Sam Brown said.

''We sold a lot of tickets, over 500, but I believe but 237,000 were sold in NSW statewide.'

''There's something about this pub - people just win.''

Blake said it was fun.

''I know nothing about horse racing but will be watching on the day and might come home for that.''

The Kosciuszko for country horses is run at Randwick on October 18.
