South Australian police are seeking the extradition of a man arrested in Cobar on Monday after an alleged home break-in over 1000 kilometres away in Yorketown.
Police say they were called to the SA property early Monday morning after three men allegedly broke in and assaulted a 74-year-old occupant.
The men allegedly stole a "large amount" of cash, a "large quantity" of collectable coins and "a number" of firearms.
Police say they also stole the man's Toyota sedan, which was later found in Minlaton, about 30 kilometres from Yorketown.
"(The victim) sustained injuries to his head and was treated at the local hospital," a police spokesperson said.
At about 8.45am the same day, police patrols stopped a white Hyundai van on the Barrier Highway near Broken Hill.
