A man arrested in Walgett yesterday (Wednesday 10 September) has been charged with drug and domestic violence offences.
Strike Force MENINGIE II is an investigation led by officers from Central North Police District into the supply of prohibited drugs, namely methylamphetamine, in the Walgett and Bourke areas.
On Wednesday a squad including officers from Central North Police District, the Dog Unit and Western Region Domestic Violence High Risk Arrest Team, attended an address on Duff Street, Walgett and arrested a 39-year-old man.
He was taken to Walgett Police Station where he was charged with two counts of breach apprehended domestic violence order, destroy or damage property and knowingly take part in supply prohibited drug greater than indictable quantity.
The man was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 4 today (Thursday 11 September 2025).
