A push bike rider last seen walking into the bushland near Cobar on 20 October is safe and well, NSW Police confirmed.

Authorities confirmed the man had left the district on a bus.

Officers from the Central North Police District received a report on Monday morning of an unattended push bike along the Barrier Highway, three kilometres outside of Wool Track Road near Cobar.

Witnesses had seen a man get off his push bike and walk into the bush.

Upon further inquiry, it was revealed the man decided to walk back to Cobar on foot where he took public transport out of the district.

Police spoke to the man and stated there is no reason for further concern.
