A Coonamble boy has been found safe and well after being reported missing five days ago.

The 12-year-old boy was last seen boarding a bus in Coonamble en route to Dubbo on Sunday 18 September 2022.

After failing to make contact with family members, district police were contacted and commenced inquiries into his whereabouts.

Following inquiries and a public appeal, the 12-year-old was found in Mt Druitt about 8pm last night (Thursday 22 September).

He was missing for four days.

Police have thanked the public for their assistance in locating the Coonamble boy.
