NSW Police have advised that a man missing from near Walgett earlier this week has been found safe and well in Queensland.

Taylar Noonan, aged 40, was reported missing from Pagan Creek, about 5 kilometres north of Walgett on Monday 28 August.

The man was last seen walking north along the Castlereagh Highway, about 40 kilometres north of Walgett, the previous day.

A multi-agency search was launched, focusing on the area surrounding Pagan Creek.

He was located in Queensland within 24 hours of the alert being issued.

Police have thanked the community and the media for their assistance.
