Shocking news has arrived for the residents of Quambone and surrounding areas, after police announced that local Ms Mary Walden has been found deceased. 

The 74-year-old woman was reported missing to officers on Friday (1 September) by a neigbour who had not seen her on the Quambone property for about a week. 

A search party began on Saturday on Sandy Camp Road which included local police, PolAir, the RFS helicopter, and the members of the local RFS, VRA and SES. 

Local members of the community also assisted with the search.

Continuing the search today, the body of a woman was located about 12:45pm. 

While she is yet to be formally identified, it is believed to be Ms Mary Walden. 

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
