A Narromine man has admitted to leading police on a car chase while he had a five-year-old child in the back seat but has denied other charges.
The 28-year-old man has pleaded guilty to driving dangerously while having a five-year-old boy unrestrained in the back seat while through the streets of a regional town in the state’s west.
The charges followed a police chase through the streets of Narromine.
Orana Mid-Western Police District officers were called around 5pm Sunday 28 July, after the man was seen driving a station wagon, which was towing a trailer, allegedly towards the police on Warren Road. Concerns were raised for the welfare of a woman seen on the side of the road forcing them to take “evasive action.”
The police allege the man almost hit a pedestrian trying to cross Dandaloo Street in Narromine.
When police stopped the vehicle on McGrane Way, they found a five-year-old boy in the rear passenger seat.

The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared in Dubbo Local Court via an audio-visual link, pleading guilty to six charges: driving dangerously during a police pursuit, having an unrestrained child in the car, one count of predatory driving, assaulting and hindering a police officer in
He has also pleaded guilty to the additional charge of using an offensive weapon to prevent lawful detention.
However, he pleaded not guilty to two counts of domestic violence-related stalking and intimidation and one count of predatory driving.
The man has not made a bail application.
He will return to court via an audio-visual link on September 7.
