The Narromine Gorillas have sent their home town crazy winning rugby union’s Central West New Holland Cup 19-15 against Mudgee on Saturday 30 August.
Narromine, cheered on by a large crowd, came out to a strong wind.
It was against them in the first half but it didn’t matter early, running off powerful possession Narromine scored after 3 minutes.
Their flanker Harrison Bowman diving through numbers for a 5 nil lead, Jacob Hardie added the extras.
Soon after winger Alex Heap rushed over for the Gorillas off a fast passing movement and the Gorillas were dominant 12-0.
Near half time Mudgee rolled through the Narromine defence and got within 5 and a penalty goal made it 2 points the difference.
In the second half the Wombats rattled Narromine early scoring first but the Gorillas bounced back minutes later Truscott delivering.
The Gorillas held on for a historic victory going through the season undefeated.

Reserve Grade
In the Reserve Grade Final Narromine ran with a strong head breeze and looked to use that in the first half but Mudgee did score first, winger Shaun Cleary scoring and try converted.
But the Gorillas using the wind struck back and centre Mitch Roach found space to get the score clos.
A penalty goal got Narromine in front 8-7 near half time.
The home side stormed into the second half with authority scoring back-to-back tries but Mudgee, inspired by some big forward hits, got the match level.
With seconds left on the clock Mudgee pounced on a mistake from a failed kick for touch by Narromine and drove to the right to grab the trophy 26-19.
Mudgee taking the upset.
