The Coalition has committed $510,000 to improve show and race grounds at Nyngan and Trangie if they win this year's federal election.

The campaign for Nationals party candidate Jamie Chaffey announced $420,000 to refurbish Trangie's showground and race course on 19 March, plus $90,000 for the Nyngan Showground.

The Coalition said it would also put $60,000 towards installing a shade sail over the parking area at the Bogan Shire Early Learning Centre.

Mr Chaffey said the money would "provide greater capacity" for events at the grounds.

"I believe in this (Trangie Showground) project, the Council believes in this project and The National Party believes in this project," Mr Chaffey said.

"We believe in regional communities and want to support projects that will make Trangie an even better place to live."

Trangie project would include re-roofing the Butter Pavillion, demolishing the old horse stables, developing day yards and improving the showground entrance.

The money for Nyngan will be used to construct a new toilet block at the showgrounds and revamp infrastructure including the cattle yards and the wool pavillion.

The commitments would also hinge on Mr Chaffey being elected to the safe Nationals seat.

Narromine and Bogan shire mayors welcomed the potential investments.

“The addition of the parking area shade at the ELC will be a much appreciated safety priority for children, families and staff who attend the ELC," Bogan Shire Council mayor Glen Neill said.

“The Council welcomes any commitment of funding within our shire, in this case for potential upgrades at the Trangie Racecourse and Showground, following on the good work of the various committees that utilise these facilities," Narromine Shire Council mayor Ewen Jones said.

Bogan will also put $10,000 each towards the Early Learning Centre and showgrounds upgrades, while Narromine shire will contribute $30,000 to the Trangie showgrounds.

Minister for Regional Development Catherine King's office declined to comment on the election infrastructure commitments, and whether the government had any of its own for the Western Plains region.

The next election is due on before 17 May.
