The communities of Baradine and Brewarrina are being urged to get tested immediately or as soon as possible, as traces of the covid 19 virus have been found in the latest round of sewage tests.
The daily covid update for the Western Local Health District (LHD) also advised that cases across the district remain relatively steady.
There were 42 new cases of covid identified in the 24 hours to 8pm last night with 6 of those cases were in Bourke, 32 in Dubbo, 2 in Wellington and 1 each in Mudgee and Bathurst.
The current total of active cases for the region is 485, with 383 of those in Dubbo.
Testing rates could be better with 4800 tests across the region in the last 24 hours, just half of what they were a few days ago.
"There have been some changes to some testing clinics in the region," said Dugald Saunders, Member for Dubbo.
"But remember that you can get tested wherever you are."
The state's first drive-through vaccination clinic starts today at Dubbo Showground with bookings only, where they hope to do approximately 200 vaccinations per day.
Australian Defence Force vaccination clinics will be in Trangie and Bourke today and from Monday will be at Nyngan Showground from 11am.
Transport for NSW is supporting local community transport operators to ensure that anyone that needs it is able to get to testing or vaccination clinics in their local communities.
Assistant Commissioner Brett Greentree congratulated the region's residents for their compliance with Public Health Orders.
"We have seen a decrease in offences again overnight," Mr Greentree said. "There were about 100 infringements throughout the region, and only 13 issued in Dubbo which is down from 50 yesterday."
"I hope and pray people are getting the message to remain at home. Don't risk your family and community, and don't risk the heavy fines if you get caught."
Mr Greentree said the majority of tickets issued were for breaches of the Stay-at-Home orders, with only a few people not complying with mask-wearing requirements.
Wellbeing checks
As part of each local Emergency Management Plan, wellbeing checks are being conducted for people in isolation or in need of additional help.
"Over 400 wellbeing check-ins were conducted throughout the region in the past 24 hours," Mr Greentree said. "This is part of our emergency management response, supplying hampers and assistance. More than 230 of these were in the Orana police area."
