A 42-year-old man has been charged with 19 offences after firearms were seized in Gilgandra yesterday.
On Tuesday 6 February, police attended a home on Gilgandra’s Wambion Street to ensure compliance of a Firearm Prohibition Order (FPO) and a Weapon Prohibition Order (WPO).
Following a search of the home, police located nine firearms, as well as a bag with white crystallised substance which is believed to be methamphetamine.
The 42-year-old man was arrested and taken to Gilgandra Police Station.
He was charged with three counts of possessing unregistered firearms, four counts of possessing unauthorised prohibited firearms, two counts of possessing ammunition without a licence or permit, and two counts of possessing a shortened firearm without authority.
Other charges included possessing a prohibited drug, using a prohibited weapon contrary to prohibition order, goods suspected stolen on premises, and acquiring firearms and ammunition subject to prohibition order.
An outstanding warrant was also executed.
The man appeared at Gilgandra Local Court the same day, where he was formally refused bail to appear at Dubbo Local Court today, 7 February.
