Pilliga man faces court for alleged murder

A 25-year old man is facing court today, after being charged with an alleged murder in Pilliga last week. 


Pilliga local Robbie Wheeldon is appearing in court for the second time today, after being charged with murder following the death of a 59-year-old man on Thursday 10 August.



A woman attended Pilliga Police Station on Thursday night, reporting an alleged domestic violence-related incident at a home on Catherine Street. 


Police arrived at the address to find a 59-year-old man critically injured in the front yard. 


Despite the arrival of paramedics, the man died at the scene. 


Robbie Wheeldon - who lived in the same house - was arrested and taken to Narrabri Police Station, and was later charged with murder, stalk/intimidate intend fear physical harm, assault police officer in execution of duty without actual bodily harm, and hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty. 


Mr Wheeldon was refused bail and appeared at the Tamworth Local Court on Saturday 12 August for his first appearance. 


He will appear in the same court today.
