A young man, reportedly aged in his twenties has tragically died in an aircraft accident south-east of Lake Cargelligo at a location between Lake Cargelligo and Tullibigeal.
Last Thursday, July 18 while undertaking aerial spraying on a farming property, the aircraft reportedly struck a wire and collided with the terrain.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing by the Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) and NSW Police.
The on-site investigations involve evidence-gathering activities which include mapping, examining the wreckage, and recovery any aircraft components for further examinations.
These examinations will take place at the ATSB's technical facilities at Canberra.
Interviews will also be sought with any witnesses and involved parties.
Other information to be collated are relevant recorded flight tracking data as well as pilot and maintenance record and weather information.
A final report will be released by the ATSB, but in the interim if a critical safety issue is identified the ATSB will immediately notify relevant parties to ensure safety action will be taken.
Authorities have called for any witnesses to come forward.
