Police call for witnesses on Cobar rodeo assault

Police are calling on the community for information after an assault at the Cobar Rodeo on Saturday.


About 5pm, emergency services were called to the rodeo at the Cobar racecourse on Louth Road, following reports two men were involved in a fight.



Officers attached to Central North Police District were told the men had an argument before a 38-year-old man was punched in the face.


The man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Cobar District Hospital with a broken jaw.


Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with footage of the assault to contact Cobar police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Investigations into the incident continue.
