Witnesses reported yesterday that a 41-year-old man did not surface after he fell from his paddleboard.
Emergency Services were alerted at around 3pm Saturday to the boat ramp in Lake Street and a large scale search began.
Central West Police, SES, NSW Rural Fire Service and Ambulance NSW officers were involved in an extensive search of the area.
It is understood the paddleboard has been recovered.
''The search was called off last night because of bad light but Police divers will assist on Sunday,'' Police said.
It continues a horror beginning to 2026 with 5 more people drowning in coastal waters in New South Wales.
Locals on social media who heard about the incident have thanked emergency services who went into the water to look for the man.
